On October 17, 2026, at about 0950 local time, a privately-registered Aeronca 7AC Champion, N83363, sustained minor damage when it exited the runway too fast after landing and struck a taxiway sign at Castle Airport (MER/KMER), Atwater, California. The pilot and passenger were not injured.
