- History of Flight:
On October 1, 2026, at about 1229 local time, a 1930s vintage low-wing Kinner Sportwing B-2 monoplane, N14927, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident at the Brunswick Executive Airport (BXM/KBXM), Brunswick, Maine. The commercial pilot suffered minor injuries. The personal flight originated from Lawrence Airport (LWM/KLWM), Lawrence, Massachusetts, at 1114.
The FAA reported that the airplane landed and on rollout flipped for unknown reasons. ADS-B data shows the airplane on final approach to runway 19L. Winds at the time were reported from 210 at 8 knots. The calculated headwind component was 7.5 knots, and crosswind component was 2.7 knots.
The pilot, aged 82, held a commercial pilot certificate with an airplane multiengine land/sea ratings and an instrument rating. He also held private privileges for airplane single engine land/sea. His Basic MedCourse was dated 3/8/2023. However, the pilot was issued a third class FAA medical on 6/2026 with a note that he must use corrective lens(es) to meet vision standards at all required distances.
Runway 1R/19L is asphalt/concrete 8000 x 200 ft. The airport field elevation was 74.7 ft.
