- History of Flight:
On April 6, 2026, at about 1951 local time, a privately-registered Flight Design CTSW, N249CT, sustained substantial damage when it was involved in an accident at the Huber Airpark Civic Club LLC (E70), Seguin, Texas. The flight instructor and student pilot were not injured. The local training flight originated from the airpark.
The FAA reported: "(instructor/student) had a hard landing during touch-n-go, detaching right main gear (which was relayed to pilot by someone on the ground via ctaf). Acft landed just short of rwy36, doing further damage to acft."
An individual reported the following on a Facebook comment:
"More info is this pilot asked my son who was ready for takeoff in his Baron to inspect his landing gear as he flew by. His right wheel was missing.
Tommy advised pilot on how to set up landing while accident pilot burned off fuel. Tommy called fire department who sent really good emergency team of trucks and personnel and they were in place quickly.
Unfortunately the airplane touched down about 90’ short of the runway in the dirt (hard landing) and tore off landing gear, went up on its nose and bent fuselage. Student and instructor not injured (whew!) and people and equipment at airport moved airplane off approach path.
Good job fire dept!
Unable to post pic Tommy took last night. Must have been five or six fire trucks"
