- History of Flight:
On May 3, 2026, at about 2241 local time, a Cessna 182D Skylane, N9069X, sustained substantial damage when it impacted trees and terrain under unknown circumstances in a residential area near Fairfield County Airport (LHQ/KLHQ), Lancaster, Ohio. The pilot and passenger were seriously injured. The flight originated from Eastern West Virginia Regional Airport (MRB/KMRB), 
Martinsburg, West Virginia, at 2047, and was destined to KLHQ.

Post-accident photos show that the airplane came to rest upright and there was no post crash fire. The right wing was impact damaged and separated while the left wing and fuselage sustained extensive impact damage. All three propeller blades remained attached to the propeller hub, and all were straight and undamaged. The main and nose landing gear remained attached to the airplane.

At 2253, the conditions at KLHQ included: winds 210 at 6 knots, 10 miles visibility, few clouds at 7,500ft AGL and an overcast ceiling at 10,000ft AGL, temperature 11°C, dewpoint 3°C, and an altimeter setting of 29.95 inches of mercury.
