On July 18, 2026, at about 0922 local time, a privately-registered Piper PA-18 Super Cub, N7590K, sustained substantial damage following a forced landing for unknown reasons near Colusa, California. The pilot sustained serious injuries.
Preliminary ADS-B data first showed the airplane cruising south of the Trinity Lake near Redding, California, at 0809. The flight continued uneventfully until the airplane approached Colusa, California. The airplane was observed on a rapid descent before it landed in a field. The NTSB is investigating.
