Cirrus SF50 Vision Jet G2+ Arrivée, N71KD, accident occurred on August 14, 2026, at Driggs-Reed Memorial Airport (DIJ/KDIJ), Driggs, Idaho

- History of Flight:
On August 14, 2026, at about 0624 local time, a Cirrus SF50 Vision Jet G2+ Arrivée, N71KD, registered to Vision71 LLC out of Chevy Chase, Maryland, sustained substantial damage when it was involved in an accident at Driggs-Reed Memorial Airport (DIJ/KDIJ), Driggs, Idaho. The pilot was not injured, and one passenger suffered minor injuries. The flight was originating at the time with an intended destination of New Century AirCenter (IXD/KIXD), 
Olathe, Kansas.

According to preliminary ADS-B data, the airplane lined up about 2,400 ft down runway 4 and began its takeoff attempt. The airplane accelerated to about 67 knots groundspeed before it began an aborted takeoff. The airplane was last seen about 5,000 ft down the runway before coming to a complete stop.

The FAA reported that the jet attempted to depart from the part of the runway that was under construction when it hit gravel causing the gear to collapse.

DJI is an uncontrolled public airport and sits at an elevation of 6257 ft. Runway 4/22 is 7301 x 100 ft.

On August 5, 2026, an active Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) was issued for the airport, with a reported end date of September 5, 2026. The NOTAM states that the southwest segment of runway 4/22 spanning 3,451 ft was closed. As a result, the TORA/TODA/ASDA/LDA for runway 04 (Takeoff Run Available/Takeoff Distance Available/Accelerate-Stop Distance Available/Landing Distance Available) were 3,850 ft.

- History of Flight:
On August 15, 2026, at about 0827 local time, a Robinson R22 Beta, N8316N, registered to N8316N LLC, sustained substantial damage when it was involved in an accident near Miramar, Florida. The occupants onboard were not injured. The local flight originated from North Perry Airport (HWO/KHWO), 
Hollywood, Florida, at 0805.

The FAA reported that the helicopter was practicing off-field landings when it rolled for unknown reasons and impacted terrain. ADS-B data shows that the helicopter headed west towards an area in the everglades and was coming in for a landing when the accident happened.

On August 15, 2026, at reportedly 1327 local time, a privately-registered Zenith CH 601 HDS Zodiac, N601EZ, sustained substantial damage when it impacted terrain for unknown reasons and came to rest inverted near Ravenswood, West Virginia. The wreckage was located next morning. The pilot suffered serious injuries and was found in the wreckage. The flight originated from Jackson County Airport (I18), Ravenswood, West Virginia.

On August 15, 2026, at about 1604 local time, a Steen Skybolt, N32DA, sustained substantial damage when it was involved in an accident at Roseburg Regional Airport (RBG/KRBG), Roseburg, Oregon. The pilot was not injured.

The FAA reported that the airplane experienced a wind gust on landing and veered off runway into the grass.

At 1553, the winds were reported from 020°at 10 knots. At 1653, the winds were from 020°at 11 knots, gusting 16 knots.

On August 14, 2026, at about 0938 local time, a Great Lakes 2T-1A-2 Sport Trainer, N621GL, registered to Overwatch Tools Inc, was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near Seminole Lake Gliderport (6FL0), Clemont, Florida. The pilot and passenger suffered serious injuries. The local flight originated at 0927.

Preliminary ADS-B data suggests the airplane was maneuvering around the airport and the accident occurred during short final for runway 36. 

The FAA reported that the airplane struck a tree and crashed and post crash fire ensued.

On August 14, 2026, at about 1437 local time, a Gulfstream IV, N406JS, registered to Home Cloud Aviation LLC and being operated by Hera Flight as flight HER406, sustained substantial damage when it experienced a landing gear collapse and veered off runway 08R at Spirit of St. Louis Airport (SUS/KSUS), St Louis, Missouri. The two pilots and eight passengers were not injured. The Part 135 cooperate flight originated from Eagle County Airport (EGE/KEGE), 
Eagle, Colorado, at 1021.

ADS-B data shows the jet on final approach with a ground speed of 149 knots. Runway 08R is 7486 x 150 ft.

- History of Flight:
On August 14, 2026, at about 0830 local time, a Piper PA-28-181 Archer III, N586MA, registered to the Washington International Flight Academy LLC (WIFA), sustained unknown damage when it struck a tree during a missed approach to runway 24 at State College-University Park Airport (SCE/KUNV), Houserville, Pennsylvania. The sole occupant onboard was not injured. The airplane diverted to and landed at 
0857 at Altoona Airport (AOO/KAOO) Altoona, Pennsylvania. The flight originated from Montgomery County Airport (GAI/KGAI), Gaithersburg, Maryland, at 0716.

The FAA reported that the incident occurred on approach to Altoona. However, ADS-B data shows that the airplane was initially on approach to runway 24 at KUNV when it descended below 1,400 ft and started a missed approach and diverting to KAOO.
