On May 11, 2026, at about 2013 local time, a Cirrus SR20 G6 TRAC, N489AV, registered to Westwind School of Aeronautics Phoenix LLC and doing business as United Aviate Academy, sustained minor damage when it struck FOD (foreign object debris) on runway 5 at Casa Grande Municipal Airport (CGZ/KCGZ), Casa Grande, Arizona. The pilot and two passengers were not injured. The training flight originated from Phoenix Goodyear Airport (GYR/KGYR), 
Goodyear, Arizona, at 1824.

The airport features two turf runways 1/19 and 4/22. FAA remarks state

On May 12, 2026, at about 2034 local time, a privately-registered Grumman American AA-5 Traveler, N5832L, sustained substantial damage when it was involved in an accident at Riverside-Rubidoux-Flabob Airport (RIR/KRIR), Jurupa Valley, California. The pilot was not injured. The flight originated from KRIR at 1942.

The FAA reported: "Aircraft unable to turn on the airport lights, landed adjacent to runway and spun out."

ADS-B data shows the airplane on approach to runway 24 when it landed to the left side of the runway.

The airport features a single asphalt runway 6/24 which is 3190 x 50 ft. The runway features nonprecision markings and a touchdown, but with no lights or runway end identifier lights.

The NTSB is investigating the event as a class 4 accident.
