On January 22, 2026, at 1600 eastern standard time, a Hughes 369D, N105AC, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near North Augusta, South Carolina. The pilot was not injured. The helicopter was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 133 external load flight.

The pilot reported that about 45 minutes into conducting tree trimming operations an engine chips caution light illuminated. The pilot was attempting to return to the landing zone when the engine torque and temperature began to fluctuate, and the helicopter subsequently experienced a total loss of engine power. The pilot jettisoned the external load and conducted an autorotation to the ground which resulted in substantial damage to the helicopter.

The helicopter was retained for further examination.

On February 2, 2026, at about 1506 local time, a Piper PA-28-161 Warrior II, N624AQ, sustained unknown damage in a forced landing near Grove City, Pennsylvania. The pilot and passenger were not injured. The flight originated from the Butler County/K. W. Scholter Field Airport (BTP/KBTP), 
Butler, Pennsylvania, at 1452 LT.

The FAA reported: "Aircraft experienced engine issues and landed in a field." ADS-B data show the aircraft cruising through 3,000 ft before the track stopped south of Grove City.

- History of Flight:
On February 1, 2026, at about 1417 local time, a Beechcraft V35B Bonanza, N9AB, registered to PlanesUSA.com LLC, and a privately-registered Piper PA-28-140 Cherokee, N6780W, 
were both substantially damage in a ground collision at Odessa-Schlemeyer Field (ODO/KODO), Odessa, Texas. The pilot and passenger onboard each aircraft were not injured. The Bonanza had originated on a cross-country personal flight from the San Diego-Gillespie Field (SEE/KSEE), San Diego, California, at 0708 LT.

The FAA reported that the Bonanza was attempted a go-around immediately after touching down and landing gear struck the windshield of Cherokee which just taxied onto the runway. ADS-B data show that the Bonanza was landing on runway 11 at KODO before veering to the left side of the runway. The Cherokee was not captured on flight-tracking sites.

On February 1, 2026, at about 1921 local time, a privately-registered Piper PA-22-150 Tri-Pacer, N3263Z, 
sustained substantial damage when it was involved in an accident at Merrill Field (MRI/PAMR), Anchorage, Alaskas. The pilot and passenger received minor injuries.

The FAA reported: "Aircraft departed, while in a climbing turn, descended and made a hard landing on a taxiway." NTSB Alaska Chief Clint Johnson reported: "the Piper PA 22 was taking off from Runway 3-4 when the pilot reported a loss of engine power. The pilot made a right descending turn and crashed onto another taxiway.

ADS-B data show that the airplane departed runway 34, entered a climbing right turn to an altitude of 425 ft before descending towards one of the taxiways (see figure).
