- History of Flight:
On September 2, 2026, at about 1617 local time, a privately-registered Mooney M20E Super 21, N55GA, sustained unknown damage following a forced landing near Guthrie County Regional Airport (GCT/KGCT), Guthrie Center, Iowa. The pilot was not injured. The flight had originated from an unknown airport in Wisconsin, and was destined to an unknown airport in Missouri.
The FAA reported that the airplane made a hard landing on a road due to fuel exhaustion, damaging the landing gear (during the landing process).
Segments of the flight were captured ADS-B exchange and Flightaware, but they did not contain the early and late portions of the flight. The last ADS-B data point was recorded near Linden, Iowa, a few miles east of KGCT, as the airplane turned right after starting a descent from cruise altitude.
Fuel exhaustion? Really? This should provoke a license revocation.
