- History of Flight:
On September 1, 2026, at about 1400 local time, a privately-registered Aeronca 7DC Champion, N4542E, sustained substantial damage in an accident near Valdez, Alaska. The pilot was not injured.
The FAA reported that the airplane was landing on a highway and taxiing to a private road when it was caught a gust of wind and ground looped. The NTSB is investigating.
