Mitsubishi MU-2B-40 Solitaire, N5LC, accident occurred on August 15, 2026, at Muskegon County Airport (MKG/KMKG), Muskegon, Michigan

On August 15, 2026, at about 1359 local time, a Mitsubishi MU-2B-40 Solitaire, N5LC, registered to Calm Air Aviation Inc, sustained substantial damage when it landed with at least one gearup on runway 14 at Muskegon County Airport (MKG/KMKG), Muskegon, Michigan. The pilot was not injured. The local flight originated at 1338.

- History of Flight:
On August 15, 2026, at about 1450 local time, a Pipistrel Taurus Electro G2.5, N984TP, registered to Texas Soaring Bats LLC, sustained unknown damage when it departed controlled flight, lost control and spiraled down onto private property near Hempstead, Texas. The pilot suffered minor injuries. The local flight presumably originated from Soaring Club of Houston Gliderport (89TA), Waller, Texas.

On August 15, 2026, at about 0900 local time, a Magni M24 Orion Plus, N91JL, registered to Rotor Effects LLC, sustained unknown damage when it crashed into a pond after attempting to abort its takeoff. The pilot was not injured.

Great Lakes 2T-1A-2 Sport Trainer, N621GL, accident occurred on August 14, 2026, near Seminole Lake Gliderport (6FL0), Clemont, Florida

- History of Flight:
On August 14, 2026, at about 0938 local time, a Great Lakes 2T-1A-2 Sport Trainer, N621GL, registered to Overwatch Tools Inc, was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near Seminole Lake Gliderport (6FL0), Clemont, Florida. The pilot and passenger suffered serious injuries. The local flight originated at 0927.

Preliminary ADS-B data suggests the airplane was maneuvering around the airport and the accident occurred during short final for runway 18 (see photos). 

The FAA reported that the airplane struck a tree and crashed and post crash fire ensued.




Gulfstream IV, N406JS, accident occurred on August 14, 2026, at Spirit of St. Louis Airport (SUS/KSUS), St Louis, Missouri

- History of Flight:
On August 14, 2026, at about 1437 local time, a Gulfstream IV, N406JS, registered to Home Cloud Aviation LLC and being operated by Hera Flight as flight HER406, sustained substantial damage when it experienced a landing gear collapse and veered off runway 08R at Spirit of St. Louis Airport (SUS/KSUS), St Louis, Missouri. The two pilots and eight passengers were not injured. The Part 135 cooperate flight originated from Eagle County Airport (EGE/KEGE), 
Eagle, Colorado, at 1021.

ADS-B data shows the jet on final approach with a ground speed of 149 knots. Runway 08R is 7486 x 150 ft.

On August 15, 2026, at about 1146 local time, a Piper PA-44-180 Seminole, N302VM, registered to Washington International Flight Academy LLC (WIFA), sustained unknown damage when it suffered a nose gear collapse on landing at Altoona-Blair County Airport (AOO/KAOO), Altoona, Pennsylvania. The pilot and three passengers were not injured. The flight originated from Hagerstown Regional Airport-Richard A Henson Field (HGR/KHGR), 
Hagerstown, Maryland, at 1126.

- History of Flight:
On August 14, 2026, at about 0830 local time, a Piper PA-28-181 Archer III, N586MA, registered to the Washington International Flight Academy LLC (WIFA), sustained unknown damage when it struck a tree during a missed approach to runway 24 at State College-University Park Airport (SCE/KUNV), Houserville, Pennsylvania. The sole occupant onboard was not injured. The airplane diverted to and landed at 
0857 at Altoona Airport (AOO/KAOO) Altoona, Pennsylvania. The flight originated from Montgomery County Airport (GAI/KGAI), Gaithersburg, Maryland, at 0716.

The FAA reported that the incident occurred on approach to Altoona. However, ADS-B data shows that the airplane was initially on approach to runway 24 at KUNV when it descended below 1,400 ft and started a missed approach and diverting to KAOO.
