- History of Flight:
On August 14, 2026, at about 0938 local time, a Great Lakes 2T-1A-2 Sport Trainer, N621GL, registered to Overwatch Tools Inc, was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near Seminole Lake Gliderport (6FL0), Clemont, Florida. The pilot and passenger suffered serious injuries. The local flight originated at 0927.
Preliminary ADS-B data suggests the airplane was maneuvering around the airport and the accident occurred during short final for runway 18 (see photos).
The FAA reported that the airplane struck a tree and crashed and post crash fire ensued.
Looks like he was landing to the south on Runway 18, NOT 36. Runway 18 has rather clear approaches so to hit a tree one would have to be quite unaligned with the center of the runway.
