- History of Flight:
On August 9, 2026, at about 1643 local time, a Cessna 208B Grand Caravan EX, N247JP, registered to Spirit Air Inc and being operated by Gem Air as a Part 135 on-demand flight, sustained substantial damage when it was involved in an accident near Salmon, Idaho. There were no injuries. The flight originated from Boise Airport (BOI/KBOI), Boise, Idaho, at 1549.
The FAA stated that the airplane was on final when it reported an asymmetric flap deployment. A post flight inspection revealed spar damage. The NTSB is investigating the event as an accident.
