- History of Flight:
On August 8, 2026, at about 1053 local time, a Jonker JS-3 Rapture, N9172T, and Schleicher ASK 21, N361KS, were both substantially damaged when they were involved in an accident at Mountain Valley Airport (L94), Tehachapi, California. The sole pilot onboard each glider was not injured.
The FAA reported that the ASK 21 was unable to stop during landing rollout and struck the Jonker. The FAA also reported that the Jonker was struck while stationary on the glider runway ready for departure damaging the wings leading edge.
The NTSB is investigating.
