- History of Flight:
On August 7, 2026, at about 1528 local time, a Politechnika Warszawska PW-6U glider, N17YC, registered to Truckee-Tahoe Soaring Association, sustained substantial damage in an accident near Floriston, California. The pilot and passenger were not injured. The local flight originated from the Truckee-Tahoe Airport (TRK/KTRK), Truckee, California, at 1502.
The FAA reported that the glider made an off-airport landing and came to rest partially in the river.
Preliminary ADS-B data shows that the glider departed TRK and headed east to maneuver around before proceeding north, the glider then turned around and glided along the Truckee River before it was forced to land.
