- History of Flight:
On September 27, 2026, at about 1712 local time, a privately-registered Lancair 360, N864M, sustained unknown damage when it overshot runway 24 on landing and came to rest past the end of the runway in the grass at New River Valley Airport (PSK/KPSK), Dublin, Virginia. The pilot was not injured. The flight originated from the nearby Virginia Tech Airport (BCB/KBCB), Blacksburg, Virginia.
Preliminary ADS-B data shows an approach groundspeed of 146 knots and a vertical rate of +1400 feet per minute (fpm). The next reliable data point was captured off the departure end of runway 24 and showed the airplane at 60 knots groundspeed.
New River Valley Airport is a non-towered public airport located 2 miles north of Dublin, Virginia. The airport field elevation is 2104.5 ft. The airport features a single asphalt/grooved runway 6/24 which is in good condition and 6201 x 150 ft.
The weather at the time showed winds from the northwest at 10 knots gusting 20 knots.
