- History of Flight:
On September 27, 2026, at about 1027 local time, a privately-registered Piper PA-17 Vagabond, N4666H, sustained unknown damage when it crashed in a marsh following engine troubles and came to rest partially submerged and nose down in the water north of Jekyll Island Airport (09J), Jekyll Island, Georgia. The pilot was not injured. The personal flight had originated from St. Simons Island Airport (KSSI), St. Simons, Georgia, and was destined to Jekyll Island Airport (09J), Jekyll Island, Georgia
