- History of Flight:
On August 22, 2026, at about 1305 local time, a Cessna R172E Skyhawk, N7899N, registered to an owner from the United States Air Force, sustained substantial damage following a forced landing near Colorado Springs, Colorado. The pilot and passenger were not injured. The flight originated from Colorado Springs Municipal Airport (COS/KCOS), Colorado Springs, Colorado, at 1248.
The FAA stated that the pilot reported an engine fire and made an emergency landing in a field. The NTSB is investigating.
