- History of Flight:
On August 21, 2026, at about 1500 local time, a privately-registered Cessna 172G Skyhawk, N3864L, experienced an engine fire and subsequent forced landing at Cuero Municipal Airport (T71), Cuero, Texas. The flight originated from Calhoun County Airport (PKV/KPKV), Port Lavaca, Texas, at 1424. The pilot and passenger were not injured.
The airplane departed Bulverde Airpark (1T8), San Antonio, Texas, earlier in the day on a flight to KPKV. The airplane then flew a 5 minute flight around KPKV and departed on the incident flight about 2 hours later.
Preliminary ADS-B data shows that the airplane was climbing through 6,000 ft to the northwest, likely on a return flight to Bulverde when it initiated a descent to 3,900 ft. At roughly 1500, the airplane entered a right turn and landed at Cuero.
