- History of Flight:
On September 16, 2026, at about 1852 local time, a Cessna 172M Skyhawk, N9909Q, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Lee Bottom Airport (64I), Hanover, Indiana. The pilot and passenger suffered minor injuries. The personal flight originated from Clark Regional Airport (JVY/KJVY), Jeffersonville, Indiana, at 1835.
The FAA and local police reported that the was taking off from 64I when it crashed shortly after takeoff and struck a residence. The FAA reported the time as 1712 LT. However, ADS-B data shows that the airplane was on approach to the airport at about 1852.
The airport features a single turf runway 4080 x 100 ft. The airport field elevation is 473 ft.

I can't even imagine how she ended up all balled up like that and laying on her own tail, must have been a heckuva ride. Glad they're okay!
