- History of Flight:
On August 27, 2026, at about 1554 local time, a Vashon Ranger R7, N369VR, registered to the Southern Illinois University School of Aviation (SIU), sustained unknown damage when it was involved in a bounced landing on runway 36L at Southern Illinois Airport (MDH/KMDH), Carbondale/Murphysboro, Illinois. The local flight originated at 1550. The sole pilot onboard was not injured.
The FAA reported that the airplane bounced on landing and post flight inspection revealed damage to the firewall and rudder. At the time, the winds were from 360° at 10 knots.
