- History of Flight:
On August 24, 2026, at about 1100 local time, a privately-registered Piper PA-22-150 Caribbean, N6157D, sustained substantial damage when it suffered a left landing gear collapse while taxiing at Mountain Empire Airport (MKJ/KMKJ), Rural Retreat, Virginia. The pilot was not injured.
The NTSB is investigating.
