- History of Flight:
On June 21, 2026, at about 0731 local time, a Cirrus SR22 G2 GTS, N544CD, registered to Aeroplanes LLC, sustained substantial damage when it was involved in an accident at Kee Field Airport (I16), Pineville, West Virginia. The pilot was not injured. The personal flight originated from Hamilton Airport (HAO/KHAO), Hamilton, Ohio, at 0631.
The airplane was originally destined to Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU/KRDU), Raleigh, North Carolina.
The FAA reported that the airplane experienced an engine failure and attempted to make a forced landing and overshot the runway.
ADS-B data shows that the airplane was cruising at 7,000 ft when it entered a descending right hand turn. The airplane flew over the runway at I16 and the last data points showed it on a base-to-final turn for runway 26.
The airplane overrun the runway and came to rest upright on a road after the departure end.
The airport features an asphalt runway 8/26 which is 3701 x 60 ft.
