On October 31, 2026, at about 1028 local time, a privately-registered Van's RV-8, N889WT, sustained unknown damage when the right main gear brake caught fire during a run up for departure at Mather Airport (MHR/KMHR), Sacramento, California. The sole pilot onboard was not injured.
