- History of Flight:
On September 22, 2026, at about 1849 local time, a Hawker Hunter F.58A, N345AX, a Hawker Hunter F.58A, N345AX, was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near Cayucos, California. The pilot suffered unknown injuries. The airplane was registered to Hunter Aviation International Inc, and being operated by Airborne Tactical Advantage Company as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 public use operation, which originated from Point Mugu NAS (NTD/KNTD), Port Hueneme, California, at 1756.
The FAA reported that the jet lost engine and "splashed in the water."
The pilot radioed in a mayday call and stated that he had lost thrust. The pilot subsequently ejected from the aircraft.
