On July 18, 2026, at about 1117 local time, a Cessna 172N Skyhawk II, N3462E, sustained substantial damage when it was involved in a hard landing on runway 32 at Lake Norman Airpark (14A), Mooresville, North Carolina. The pilot was not injured. The flight originated from Virginia Tech Airport (BCB/KBCB), Blacksburg, Virginia, at 1014.
