- History of Flight:
On May 16, 2026, at about 0813 local time, a Piper PA-44-180 Seminole, N867AT, registered to the CXK1 LLC and being operated by the ATP Flight School, and a Piper PA-28-181 Archer TX, N343ND, registered to the UND Aerospace Foundation and being operated by the University of North Dakota, both sustained unknown damage following a ground collision at Mesa Gateway Airport (IWA/KIWA), Phoenix, Arizona. The student and flight instructor onboard the Seminole and the sole pilot onboard the Archer were not injured.
The FAA reported that the Seminole was conducting a run-up when its right wing was struck by the left wing of NDU343. It also reported that the Archer was conducting a run-up and its left wing struck the right wing of CXK1035.
ADS-B data shows that the Seminole came to a stop in the runup area at 0807. The Archer then proceeded to taxi to the right side of the Seminole before coming to a stop at 0811.
