- History of Flight:
On March 31, 2026, at about 0917 local time, a Cessna 172N Skyhawk, N797RJ, registered to Seven 4 Zulu LLC, and a Cessna 172N Skyhawk, N734VX, registered to Red Door Aviation LLC, both sustained unknown damage following a ground collision at Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport (MYF/KMYF), San Diego, California. There were no injuries. Both airplanes were being operated on local personal flights.
According to the FAA: "N797RJ: Aircraft taxiing out of the run-up area, the right wing struck the left wing of N734VX which was parked waiting for clearance." and "N734VX: Aircraft was parked and waiting for clearance and the left wing was struck by the right wing of N797RJ."
According to preliminary ADS-B data, N734VX taxied from the ramp and came to a stop in the run-up area leading to runway 28L at 0900 LT. At 0907 LT, N797RJ exited runway 28L and started going down taxiway H. At 0908 LT, N797RJ came to a stop right next to N734VX in the run-up area. At 0917 LT, N797RJ started taxiing when it clipped the other parked Cessna. (see figures).
