On September 18, 2026, at about 1604 local time, an Aérospatiale SA315B Lama, N238HA, registered to High Altitude Helicopters Inc, sustained substantial damage when it lost lift shortly after takeoff for unknown reasons and crashed near McRae, Georgia. The pilot was not injured.

The helicopter was involved in an accident on May 2, 2024, near Lewsiton, Idaho, when it struck powerlines during an aerial application flight.

- History of Flight:
On September 18, 2026, at about 1037 local time, a Bell 206B-3 JetRanger III, N50141, registered to Greenwood Helicopters Inc out of Washington, NC, sustained substantial damage when it crashed on landing under unknown circumstances near Plymouth, North  Carolina. The sole pilot onboard was not injured.

Preliminary ADS-B data shows that the helicopter departed from an open field near Cypress Landing, North Carolina, and proceeded north and reached a set of powerlines near Creswell, North Carolina, at 0805. The helicopter seems to have started doing aerial powerline work. The FAA reported the accident time at 1037 and the flight activity as personal.

According to online sources: "Greenwood Helicopters is a reputable helicopter service provider based in Washington, NC. Specializing in aerial transportation and tours, the company offers a range of services to meet various needs."
