- History of Flight:
On September 29, 2026, at about 1350 local time, a privately-registered Pitts S-1 Special, N292Y, sustained substantial damage when it was involved in an accident near Madison, Georgia. The sole pilot onboard was seriously injured. The flight originated from Peachtree City Falcon Field (FFC/KFFC), Atlanta, Georgia, at 1317.
Preliminary ADS-B data shows that the airplane departed and climbed to a cruising altitude of 3,200 ft and the flight appeared uneventful. Towards the end of the track, the airplane started a -1000 feet per minute (fpm) descent. It eventually crashed in a field and struck power lines before coming to rest in a tree line. There was no post crash fire.
