- History of Flight:
On September 5, 2026, at about 1125 local time, a Cessna 310R, N969S, registered to Rivas Group LLC, sustained apparent minor damage following a forced landing near Yucca Grove, California. The pilot was not injured. The flight originated from North Las Vegas Airport (VGT/KVGT), Las Vegas, Nevada, at 1100, and was destined to Oxnard Airport (OXR/KOXR), Oxnard, California.
The FAA reported that the airplane "experienced the loss of engine" and made a forced landing.
The incident airplane, serial number 310R0318, was manufactured in 1975. It was powered by two Continental IO-520-MB engines, each drove a three-bladed propeller.
Based on online photos shared on a public Facebook group, the number 6 connecting rod in the right engine (the number 2 engine) failed and caused oil to be spread across the wing and into the fuselage and tail.
