- History of Flight:
On December 31, 2025, at about 1610 local time, a Pitts S-1 Special, N401MS, "Registration Pending", sustained substantial damage when it was involved in an accident at Southern Illinois Airport (MDH/KMDH), Carbondale/Murphysboro, Illinois. The sole pilot onboard was not injured. The local flight originated from KMDH.
According to the FAA: "Aircraft engine failed on climb out from a low approach and crashed near the approach end of the runway."
