On November 4, 2025, at about 1300 local time, a privately-registered Funk B85C Bee, N24157, sustained substantial damage when it was involved in an accident near Anderson, Indiana. The sole pilot onboard sustained fatal injuries. The flight originated from the Jasper County Airport (RNZ/KRZL), Rensselaer, Indiana, and was destined to Anderson Municipal Airport (AID/KAID), Anderson, Indiana.

Preliminary information the airplane conducted an off airport forced landing, bounced multiple times, and struck a tree. A post crash fire ensued and was limited to the cockpit area. The engine was displaced to the right. Both wings and tail remained attached to the airframe.
The pilot, aged 79, hold a commercial pilot certificate (issued/updated on January 29, 2009) with a rating for airplane single engine land airplane single engine sea, airplane multi engine land, and an instrument rating. He also held a flight instructor certificate issued/updated on 9/22/2025 and a ground instructor certificate issued/updated on 11/24/2004. His FAA BasicMed course was dated 10/10/2025.
