Cessna R172K Hawk XP, N7354V, accident occurred on October 5, 2025, at Herb Tautz Airport (LL07), Mount Carroll, Illinois

- History of Flight:
On October 5, 2025, at about 1038 local time, a Cessna R172K Hawk XP, N7354V, registered to King Daddy Aviation LLC out of Meridian, Mississippi, was destroyed when it was involved in an accident at Herb Tautz Airport (LL07), Mount Carroll, Illinois. 
The pilot sustained minor injuries, and passenger sustained serious injuries. The flight originated from Central Illinois Regional Airport (BMI/KBMI), Bloomington, Illinois, and was destined to LL07.

ADS-B data show the airplane on a descending base to final turn (coming from the west) for the runway at LL07.

LL07 features a single turf runway with no numbers assigned, but instead "East/West" and is 2400 x 80 ft . The airport field elevation was 853 ft.

The local sheriff reported that the pilot "was having trouble while landing in gusting wind." The airplane came to rest in a cornfield near the runway and was consumed by a post crash fire. The nearest reporting weather station at the time showed that the wind from 180° at 12 knots.
