- History of Flight:
On August 5, 2026, at about 1036 local time, a privately-registered Piper PA-24-260 Comanche B, N617ED, sustained substantial damage when it was involved in an accident at Double Eagle II Airport (AEG/KAEG), Albuquerque, New Mexico. The pilot and passenger were not injured. The cross-country personal flight originated from Kickapoo Downtown Airport (CWC/KCWC), Wichita Falls, Texas, at 0841.
Preliminary ADS-B data shows that the airplane was landing on runway 22 when it veered off the left side while at 78 knots groundspeed. The airplane rotated around and came to rest upright. Winds were variable at 3 knots.
