- History of Flight:
On January 3, 2026, at about 0730 local time, a Piper PA-22-108 Colt, N4729Z, registered to Sublogic Corp out of Urbana, IL, was not damaged in a forced landing to open field terrain near Mattoon, Illinois. The sole pilot onboard was not injured. The flight originated from the Day Aero-Place Airport (6IS0), Urbana, IL, at 0702 LT.
The FAA reported: "Aircraft experienced engine issues and landed in a field." ADS-B data show that the airplane was cruising at 1,700 ft when it entered a descending left hand turn and landed in the field.
