On June 9, 2025, at about 1940 local time, American Airlines flight AA1894, an Airbus A321-231 (WL), N167AN, sustained unknown damage when it was involved in an incident at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport (CLT/KCLT), Charlotte, North Carolina. There were no injuries. The flight was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 121 scheduled domestic passenger flight from Raleigh/Durham Airport (RDU/KRDU), North Carolina to KCLT.
The FAA reported that the aircraft experienced a tail strike on landing on runway 18L damaging the strike plate.
