- History of Flight:
On December 19, 2025, at about 1252 local time, a Rockwell 114 Commander, N5879N, sustained substantial damage when it was involved in an accident at Stroud Municipal Airport (SUD/KSUD), Stroud, Oklahoma. The pilot and passenger were not injured. The cross-country flight originated from Bentonville Municipal Airport/Louise M Thaden Field (VBT/KVBT), Bentonville, Arkansas, and was most likely destined to PWA.
The FAA reported: "Aircraft ran out of fuel, declared an emergency, landed short of the runway and the landing gear detached from the fuselage." ADS-B data show that the airplane was cruising at 4,500 ft when it entered a descending left hand turn to KSUD. The airplane sustained substantial damage to the airframe.
