- History of Flight:
On July 29, 2026, at about 1350 local time, a privately-registered Piper PA-28-235 Cherokee, N8796W, sustained unknown damage when it incurred a propeller strike due to being lifted up by the jet blast from a passenger jet while taxing after landing at Kansas City International Airport (MCI/KMCI), Kansas City, Missouri. The pilot and passenger were not injured. The flight originated from Manhattan Municipal Airport (MHK/KMHK), Manhattan, Kansas, at 1251.
The FAA reported that Southwest Airlines flight 2548 was the source of the jet blast. ADS-B data shows that the Piper landed on runway 9 at 1344:43, and that SWA departed the same runway at roughly 1350. The FAA reported the incident time as 1350.
