- History of Flight:
On July 30, 2026, at about 2354 local time, a Cessna 172M Skyhawk, N9650V, registered to a private individual and being operated by Blitz Aviation out of Ogden, UT, sustained substantial damage following a forced landing near Hill Air Force Base (HIF/KHIF), Ogden, Utah. The pilot and passenger suffered minor injuries. The flight originated from Nephi Municipal Airport (U14), Nephi, Utah, at 2300, and was destined to Ogden Municipal Airport (OGD/KOGD), Ogden, Utah.
The FAA reported that the airplane experienced engine failure and made a forced landing on a road short of the runway and flipped over.
Preliminary ADS-B data shows that the airplane was cruising at ~7,000 ft when it entered a descent towards KHIF but ended up landing short on a road.
