- History of Flight:
On October 7, 2026, at about 1450 local time, a privately-registered Denney Kitfox II, N940J, sustained substantial damage when it was involved in an accident at Smith Field Airport (64AR), Ward, Arkansas. The pilot suffered minor injuries.
The FAA reported that the airplane aborted its takeoff due to a tail wind at tree level and landed hard on the grass strip incurring a propeller strike.
The NTSB is investigating.
